UltraTech Cement Stock Analysis 2026: Q1 FY27 Results, Dividend, Revenue, Profit & Future

UltraTech Cement Ltd Stock Analysis: Q1 FY27 Results, FY26 Performance, Dividend, Competitors and Future Growth

UltraTech Cement Ltd, part of the Aditya Birla Group, continues to expand its position in India’s cement and building-materials industry. The company entered FY27 with strong operating momentum, supported by higher cement volumes, capacity expansion, integration of acquired assets and improving operating efficiency. UltraTech crossed 200 MTPA of domestic grey cement capacity in April 2026, while its global cement capacity including international operations reached about 205.5 MTPA. In Q1 FY27, domestic sales volumes increased 13.1% year-on-year to 39.2 million tonnes, while domestic capacity utilisation stood at 81%.

UltraTech Cement Q1 FY27 Financial Performance

UltraTech Cement reported consolidated net sales of ₹24,465 crore in Q1 FY27 compared with ₹21,040 crore in Q1 FY26, representing approximately 16% year-on-year growth. PBIDT increased to ₹5,146 crore from ₹4,591 crore, while consolidated profit after tax rose to ₹2,604 crore from ₹2,221 crore, an increase of approximately 17%. The company attributed the performance to volume growth, operating efficiencies, market execution and the continuing integration of acquired assets.

UltraTech Cement Last Five Quarters Results

Looking at the recent five-quarter financial trend, UltraTech Cement has maintained a strong earnings trajectory despite quarterly fluctuations. In Q1 FY26, consolidated net sales were ₹21,040 crore and PAT was ₹2,226 crore. In Q2 FY26, net sales increased to ₹19,371 crore and PAT stood at ₹1,232 crore. In Q3 FY26, net sales rose further to ₹21,506 crore and normalised PAT was ₹1,792 crore. Q4 FY26 was particularly strong, with net sales of ₹25,467 crore and normalised PAT of ₹3,011 crore. The latest Q1 FY27 quarter reported net sales of ₹24,465 crore and PAT of ₹2,604 crore. This five-quarter sequence shows that profitability has remained substantially higher than the corresponding period of FY25, although quarterly earnings naturally vary with seasonality, cement prices, fuel costs and operating conditions.

FY26 Full-Year Financial Performance

For FY26, UltraTech Cement delivered record financial performance. Consolidated net sales increased to ₹87,384 crore from ₹74,936 crore in FY25. PBIDT increased to ₹17,598 crore from ₹13,302 crore, while profit after tax before exceptional items increased to ₹8,305 crore from ₹6,115 crore. The company also reported strong operating cash flow of ₹14,398 crore during FY26 and ended the year with net debt-to-EBITDA of about 0.94 times. These numbers reflect the scale benefit from capacity expansion and acquisitions as well as improved operating performance.

Dividend

Dividend is one of the major highlights of UltraTech Cement’s FY26 performance. The company’s 2026 AGM notice proposed a dividend of ₹240 per equity share of ₹10 face value for FY26, subject to shareholder approval. The AGM notice also stated that the 26th Annual General Meeting was scheduled for 17 August 2026. The corporate-action record subsequently shows ₹240 per share as the FY26 final dividend with a 30 July 2026 ex-dividend date. This represents a substantial increase compared with the ₹77.50 per share final dividend for FY25 and ₹70 per share for FY24.

UltraTech Cement Dividend Growth

UltraTech’s dividend history shows a significant increase over the long term. The company paid ₹38 per share for FY23, ₹70 per share for FY24, ₹77.50 per share for FY25 and ₹240 per share for FY26. The FY26 payout was therefore considerably higher than the previous year and was linked to the company’s strong FY26 financial performance and cash-generation position. Investors should nevertheless distinguish between a recurring dividend policy and a particularly large annual payout, because future dividends depend on board recommendations, earnings, cash flows, capital expenditure and shareholder approval.

Capacity Expansion and Growth Strategy

Capacity expansion remains one of UltraTech Cement’s most important long-term growth drivers. The company crossed the 200 MTPA domestic grey cement capacity milestone in April 2026. UltraTech has also announced a fresh capital expenditure programme of approximately ₹10,255 crore, under which its cement capacity is expected to move towards about 240.76 MTPA at the end of the current capex cycle. The strategy combines greenfield projects, brownfield expansion and debottlenecking, which can increase market reach while improving logistics efficiency and service availability.

The India Cements Acquisition and Integration

The integration of The India Cements has become another important part of UltraTech’s growth story. In Q1 FY27, UltraTech said that India Cements had started showing improvement after integration, with normalised PAT of ₹52 crore and volume growth of 18.5%. This is relevant because successful integration of acquired assets can improve capacity utilisation, market reach and cost efficiency, although the benefits depend on execution and the broader cement-cycle environment.

UltraTech Cement Versus Major Cement Competitors

UltraTech operates in a highly competitive Indian cement market where major listed competitors include Ambuja Cements, ACC, Shree Cement and Dalmia Bharat. Ambuja Cements reported Q1 FY27 consolidated revenue from operations of ₹9,474 crore and PAT of approximately ₹577 crore, while its Q1 cement sales volume was about 17.1 million tonnes. Ambuja’s FY26 revenue from operations was ₹40,656 crore and normalised FY26 PAT was ₹2,647 crore. Its FY26 final dividend recommendation was ₹2 per share.

Dalmia Bharat reported Q1 FY27 revenue from operations of ₹3,890 crore and PAT of ₹192 crore. Cement sales volume increased 9% year-on-year to 7.6 million tonnes, while EBITDA was ₹805 crore. For FY26, Dalmia Bharat reported revenue of ₹14,804 crore and PAT of ₹1,157 crore, with FY26 EBITDA reaching ₹3,083 crore. These figures show the difference in scale between UltraTech and other major listed cement producers.

Shree Cement is another important competitor, with a large presence in the Indian cement market. Its FY26 standalone revenue from operations was ₹19,310.52 crore, compared with ₹18,037.33 crore in FY25, while Q4 FY26 standalone revenue from operations was ₹5,642.95 crore. Because cement companies differ in consolidation structure, subsidiaries and reporting formats, competitor comparisons should ideally use the same reporting basis and the same quarter before drawing financial conclusions.

Five-Quarter Financial Trend: What It Shows

UltraTech’s five-quarter numbers show a business with a relatively strong earnings base but with meaningful quarterly variation. Revenue moved from ₹21,040 crore in Q1 FY26 to ₹19,371 crore in Q2 FY26, ₹21,506 crore in Q3 FY26, ₹25,467 crore in Q4 FY26 and ₹24,465 crore in Q1 FY27. PAT moved from ₹2,226 crore to ₹1,232 crore, ₹1,792 crore, ₹3,011 crore and ₹2,604 crore respectively. The Q4 FY26 and Q1 FY27 results are particularly important because they demonstrate the company’s ability to generate high profits at its expanded operating scale.

Operating Efficiency and Sustainability

UltraTech is also investing in reducing its energy and logistics costs. In Q1 FY27, operating EBITDA per tonne improved to ₹1,214 from ₹1,198 in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company commissioned another 20 MW of waste-heat-recovery-system capacity during the quarter, taking total installed WHRS capacity to 434 MW. Its renewable-energy capacity was approximately 1.4 GW and the green-power mix reached 47% at the end of Q1 FY27. These initiatives are strategically important because power, fuel and transportation costs have a significant impact on cement-sector margins.

Future Growth Outlook

UltraTech’s future growth is closely connected with India’s housing, infrastructure, roads, urbanisation and commercial construction activity. The company’s large manufacturing footprint, more than 200 MTPA domestic capacity, acquisition integration and ongoing expansion programme provide a platform for further volume growth. At the same time, investors need to monitor cement realisations, fuel prices, freight costs, capacity utilisation, competitive pricing, interest costs and the execution of new capacity. The company’s large capital-expenditure programme also means that future returns will depend on how efficiently the new capacity is utilised.

Key Risks

The main risks for UltraTech Cement include volatility in coal and petcoke prices, changes in cement realisations, weaker-than-expected construction demand, regional oversupply, higher logistics costs and execution risks associated with large-scale expansion. Integration of acquired businesses can also involve temporary costs before operational benefits are realised. Regulatory and legal matters should also be monitored. The company’s Q1 FY27 filing disclosed ongoing legal matters relating to Competition Commission of India penalties, with appeals pending before the Supreme Court; the company has stated its position regarding these matters in its filings.

Conclusion

UltraTech Cement enters FY27 with a significantly larger operating platform and strong recent financial performance. FY26 consolidated net sales reached ₹87,384 crore and PAT before exceptional items reached ₹8,305 crore, while Q1 FY27 net sales were ₹24,465 crore and PAT was ₹2,604 crore. The ₹240 per share FY26 dividend is another major shareholder-return development. Its 200 MTPA-plus domestic capacity, ongoing expansion towards the announced 240.76 MTPA capacity level, India Cements integration and continued focus on cost efficiency are important factors to watch. However, cement remains a cyclical and capital-intensive industry, so revenue growth, margins, debt, capacity utilisation and valuation should all be considered together when analysing the stock rather than relying on profit growth or dividend alone.
